My 2014 Bookshelf

2014 is over!! In addition to my year review post I wanted to share with you some of my favourite books of this year as they left an impact in my life or changed something in the way I think!!

( NO spoiler alert just recommendations and learnt lessons )

1. The Fault In Our Stars:

The ultimate TFIOS !! first of all I liked the movie better wich is unusual for me , but anyway I cried in both and loved them both ... apart from the heartmelting romantic and heartbreaking side of the book, it is a novel that made me realise that relationships take strenght from pain (like a Kanima :p) wich means that if you want to have a better relationship create pain around and hurt people ... WHAT?? hhh nah just kidding , it just means that it's okay to let the people who love you see your pain for it will make you both realise that you're there for each other and that your relationship is unbreakable just like Hazel and Augustus :p

Favourite line:

"That's the thing about pain,it demands to be felt"

"I'm on a rollercoaster that only goes up , my friend "

I fell in love with him the way you fall asleep; slowly, and then all at once"

2.Eat Pray Love:

I think this is my favourite book , I just loved it so much it's full of adventures , knowledge and FUN... It's a great guide to picking yourself up and moving on by going on a trip to discover yourself and your passions!! Just AWESOME, plus it is an autobiography so it is so realistic and beautiful, a must-read.

"Admittedly,I am not the one who looks fantastic in everything, but still I cannot help loving myself"

"Never forget that once upon a time , in an unguarded moment you recognized yourself as a friend."

3.The Perks Of Being A Wallflower .

Here's to the teenage years with its recklessness, boldness and craziness ... It is some kind of a diary of a teenage boy struggling with the rites of passage from childhood to adulthood !! You know that kind of books that happen to translate some of the thoughts you never knew how to express ... this is one of them!!

Forever youung I wanna be forever youung

So I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons .And maybe we'll never know most of them. But evenif we don't have the power to choose where we come from,we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them."

"If somebody likes me, I want them to like the real me, not what they think I am.And I don't want them to carry it around inside.Iwant them to be able to do whatever they want around me.And if they do smething I don't like,I'll tell them."

5. Tuesdays with Morries

This is a GREAT book ,full of amazing life lessons from an old ill man  to a young one , I read it twice and each time I discovered something new ... here are some of the eye-catching lines in it:

"Age is not a competitive issue"... "The truth is,part of me is every age...I've been through all of them ,and I know what it's like.I delight in being a child when it's appropriate to be a child.I delight in being a wise old man when it's appropriate to be a wise old man.Think of all I can be!I am every age , up to my own.Do you understand? ... How can I be envious of where you are -when I've been there myself?"

"Everyone know they're going to die ...but nobody believes it. If we did ,we would do things differently."

I found it so hard to pick my favourite lines from this one so much I found a lot of underlinings in it from the last time I read it.
